Description

WH1602J is a 2.26-inch 16x2 character LCD module with a module dimension of 80.0 x 36.0 x 13.5 mm and an active area of 56.2 x 11.5 mm. This small LCD module features a 16-pin single-row connection layout along the bottom edge of the PCB.

The supply voltage is 5V, with a 3V version also available. When operating at 3V, the negative voltage is limited to 3V.

The ST7066 controller is available with multiple character sets, including English/Japanese, English/Western European, English/Scandinavian European, English/Cyrillic (Russian), and Hebrew/Arabic.

The WH1602J series supports a 6800 interface with the ST7066 controller IC. SPI and I2C interface options are available with the RW1063 controller IC. The model configurations are listed below:

WH1602J: 6800 4/8-bit parallel interface (ST7066 IC)
WH1602J1: SPI interface (RW1063 IC)
WH1602J2: I2C interface (RW1063 IC)

LED backlight options include blue, green, white, yellow-green, amber, and red. The LED backlight can be driven through PIN1, PIN2, PIN15, PIN16, or the A and K terminals.
