Description

WH1602L1 is a 3.79-inch 16x2 dot matrix LCD module with a module dimension of 122.0 x 44.0 x 13.6 mm and an active area of 94.2 x 20.0 mm. The display provides 16 characters x 2 lines and features a 16-pin single-row connection layout along the bottom edge of the PCB.

The supply voltage is 5V, with a 3V version also available. When operating at 3V, the negative voltage is limited to 3V.

The ST7066 controller is available with multiple character sets, including English/Japanese, Western European, Eastern European, Scandinavian European, Cyrillic (Russian), and Hebrew/Arabic. For applications requiring built-in Chinese fonts, the WG16032D3 and WG16032D5 graphic LCD modules are available as alternatives.

The WH1602L1 series supports a 6800 interface with the ST7066 controller IC. SPI and I2C interface options are available with the RW1063 controller IC. The model configurations are listed below:

  • WH1602L1: 6800 4/8-bit parallel interface (ST7066 IC)
  • WH1602L2: SPI interface (RW1063 IC)
  • WH1602L3: I2C interface (RW1063 IC)
 

LED backlight options include yellow-green, blue, green, white, amber, and red. The LED backlight can be driven through PIN1, PIN2, PIN15, PIN16, or the A and K terminals.
