Description

The WEO001602G is a high-performance COG OLED Display Module featuring a COG (Chip On Glass) design integrated with a PCB board. This OLED COG module includes a metal frame and four screw holes on the PCB, facilitating easy installation and making it suitable for a variety of applications.

The module's outline dimensions are 84.0 x 44.0 mm with a thickness of 9.67 mm. The active area measures 56.22 x 11.52 mm, with a diagonal size of 2.26 inches. It is equipped with an SSD1311 driver IC and supports a comprehensive character set, including ASCII, English, European languages, and Japanese characters. Each character is composed of 5x8 pixels, ensuring detailed text representation.

The COG OLED module displays text in 2 lines, with 16 characters per line. Thanks to the self-emissive nature of OLED technology, no backlight is needed, resulting in a lighter, thinner design and a high contrast ratio of 10,000:1. The display offers an ultra-wide viewing angle of up to 175 degrees, and demonstrates low power consumption and a broad operating temperature range.

The operating temperature range of the WEO001602G is from -40°C to +80°C, with a storage temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It operates within a logic voltage range of 4.8V to 5.3V, typically 5V, and uses a 1/16 duty driving method. The module defaults to the 6800 interface, with optional support for 8080, SPI, and I2C interfaces.

The WEO001602G COG OLED Display Module is effectively an enhanced version of the WEO001602C model, featuring an added metal frame and PCB board. It is recommended for applications where a frame and PCB are needed for easier installation.

Interface Pin Function

Pin No. Symbol Pin Type Description
1 VSS P Ground pin.
2 VDD P Power supply for core logic operation.  
A capacitor should be connected between VDD and VSS under all circumstances.
3 NC   No connection
4 D/C# I This pin is Data/Command control pin connecting to the MCU.
When the pin is pulled HIGH, the data at D[7:0] will be interpreted as data. 
When the pin is pulled LOW, the data at D[7:0] will be transferred to a command register.   
5 R/W# I This pin is read / write control input pin connecting to the MCU interface.  
When 6800 interface mode is selected, this pin will be used as Read/Write (R/W#) selection input. Read mode will be carried out when this pin is pulled HIGH and write mode when LOW. 
6 E I This pin is MCU interface input.  
When 6800 interface mode is selected, this pin will be used as the Enable (E) signal.
Read/write operation is initiated when this pin is pulled HIGH and the chip is selected.
7~14 DB0~ DB7 I/O These pins are bi-directional data bus connecting to the MCU data bus. 
Unused pins are recommended to tie LOW.   
15 NC   No connection
