WH2002AR is a 20x2 character LCD display module with 20 characters per line across 2 lines. The module has the same mechanical dimensions as the WH2002A series, including the PCB, LCD, and frame dimensions. While WH2002A uses a 16-pin 6800 interface as the default configuration, WH2002AR provides a different host interface configuration for applications requiring serial communication.
The module measures 116.0 x 37.0 x 13.9 mm, with a viewing area of 85.0 x 18.6 mm. It integrates an ST7066U LCD controller and a built-in MCU. UART is the default interface, while SPI or I2C can be selected through jumper configuration.
With the built-in MCU and command set, the host system can control the display without directly handling ST7066U LCD controller commands, simplifying application-level programming. The command set also allows users to adjust the backlight brightness and LCD contrast.
WH2002AR uses a COB (Chip on Board) structure and is supplied with a PCB and frame. Four mounting holes are provided on the PCB for mechanical installation. The logic supply voltage ranges from 4.5V to 5.5V, with a typical value of 5V. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C, and the storage temperature range is -30°C to +80°C.
