WH1602BR is a 16x2 character UART LCD display module with a module dimension of 80.0 x 36.0 x 13.5 mm and an active area of 56.2 x 11.5 mm. It shares the same module dimensions as the WH1602B series, providing a UART-based option for applications requiring a 16-character x 2-line display.
The WH1602BR integrates an ST7066U LCD controller and an onboard MCU and uses UART as the default communication interface. SPI and I2C interfaces can also be selected through jumper settings. With the built-in MCU and dedicated instruction set, the host can control the display without directly handling ST7066U controller commands, simplifying software development and system integration. The instruction set also provides commands for adjusting the LED backlight brightness and LCD contrast.
The module operates from a 4.5V to 5.5V supply, with 5V as the typical operating voltage. The PCB includes four mounting holes for mechanical installation. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C, and the storage temperature range is -30°C to +80°C.
