WH1604A is a 2.36-inch 16x4 LCD display with a COB (Chip on Board) structure. It displays 16 characters per line across 4 lines, with each character formed in a 5x8 dot matrix. The module measures 87.0 x 60.0 x 13.6 mm, with an active area of 56.2 x 20.8 mm. The 16-pin connection is located along the top edge of the PCB.
WH1604A uses a 6800 4/8-bit parallel interface by default with the ST7066 controller IC. SPI and I2C versions are also available with the RW1063 controller IC. The default supply voltage is +5V, with a +3V option also available.
The WH1604A series is available with multiple character sets, including English/Japanese, Western European, Eastern European, Scandinavian European, Cyrillic (Russian), and Hebrew/Arabic. LED backlight color options include yellow-green, blue, green, white, amber, and red.
