WH2004AR is a 2.89-inch 20x4 character LCD display with 20 characters per line across 4 lines. The module measures 98.0 x 60.0 x 13.6 mm, with a viewing area (VA) of 77.0 x 25.2 mm. It shares the same PCB, LCD, and frame dimensions as the WH2004A series.
WH2004AR integrates an ST7066U LCD controller and a built-in MCU. The default communication interface is UART, while SPI or I2C can be selected through jumper configuration. The built-in MCU provides an instruction set for display control, so the host system does not need to directly handle ST7066U LCD controller commands.
The instruction set also provides commands for adjusting LED backlight brightness and LCD contrast, allowing these display settings to be controlled through the communication interface.
The module is supplied with a PCB and frame, with four mounting holes provided on the PCB. The logic supply voltage ranges from 4.5V to 5.5V, with a typical value of 5.0V. The operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C, and the storage temperature range is -30°C to +80°C.
