Description

WO1602N is a 16x2 VATN COG LCD display with FPC connection, featuring 16 characters per line across two lines, with a 5x8 dot matrix per character. The module uses a Chip-on-Glass (COG) structure and a negative transmissive VATN LCD, providing a black background, high contrast, and wide viewing angles. It is equipped with a white LED backlight.

The module measures 68.2 x 25.2 x 9.7 mm, with a viewing area of 61.0 x 15.1 mm and an active area of 56.2 x 11.5 mm. It incorporates the ST7028-1A controller IC and supports an I2C interface. The module operates with a typical 3.3V logic supply (3.0V to 3.6V), with a 1/17 duty cycle and 1/5 bias. Its operating temperature range is -20°C to +70°C, and its storage temperature range is -30°C to +80°C.

The WO1602N VATN LCD shares the same active area dimensions as the WO1602G COG LCD and WH1602B COB LCD but uses a different connection design. Unlike the metal pin connections of WO1602G, WO1602N features a 10-pin FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) connection with a 0.5 mm pitch, designed for use with a compatible ZIF (Zero Insertion Force) connector. The LED backlight A/K terminals are integrated into the FPC, and a retaining hook on the side of the backlight assembly helps secure the module.

This FPC-based configuration allows the display to be connected without reserving PCB space for direct soldering of the module's metal pins. It also facilitates display installation, servicing, and replacement. The negative-mode VATN display characteristics make it suitable for equipment requiring clearly visible characters and status information against a dark background.
