WH1601L is a 16x1 alphanumeric LCD display module with a 3.75-inch diagonal, displaying 16 characters in a single line with a 5x8 dot matrix character format. The module measures 122.0 x 33.0 x 13.5 mm, with an active area of 94.84 x 9.66 mm. It operates from a 5V supply and is compatible with 3V operation, with the negative voltage limited to 3V. The module is built on a PCB with mounting holes for mechanical integration.
The WH1601L uses a 6800 4/8-bit parallel interface by default with the ST7066 controller IC or equivalent. SPI and I2C interface configurations are also available using the RW1063 controller IC. The available interface versions include:
The ST7066 controller is available with multiple character sets, including English/Japanese, Western European, Eastern European, Scandinavian European, Cyrillic (Russian), and Hebrew/Arabic.
LED backlight options include yellow-green, white, red, blue, green, and amber, and a version without a backlight is also available. The LED backlight can be driven through PIN1, PIN2, PIN15, PIN16, or the A and K terminals.
