Description

The WINSTAR WH1602A is a dot matrix LCD display module capable of displaying 16 characters by 2 lines, featuring a Chip on Board (COB) design and a 2.26-inch diagonal screen size. It is equipped with the ST7066 controller IC by default, which supports the 6800 4/8-bit parallel interface. Optional interfaces such as SPI and I2C are available using the RW1063 controller IC.

This dot matrix LCD display supports a standard 5V operating voltage, with an optional 3V supply (note: when operating at 3V, the negative voltage supply is limited to 3V). The LED backlight can be driven via PIN1, PIN2, PIN15, PIN16, or terminals A and K. WH1602A offers multiple backlight color options, including blue, green, white, yellow-green, amber, red, and white LEDs.

The ST7066 controller IC offers multiple character font ROM versions for customers to choose from, including English/Japanese, Western European, Eastern European, Scandinavian European, Cyrillic (Russian), and Hebrew/Arabic.

The WH1602A series includes several interface variants:
► WH1602A: 6800 interface (ST7066 IC)
► WH1602A2: SPI interface (RW1063 IC)
► WH1602A3: I2C interface (RW1063 IC)
