The WH1602T is a reliable 16x2 character LCD display module featuring a COB (Chip-On-Board) structure and an integrated ST7066 controller IC (or equivalent). It operates at a default 5V power supply, with an optional 3V version available. When using the 3V version, the negative voltage supply must also be 3V.
At the core of the module is a high-quality 16x2 LCD panel featuring a dot matrix format of 16 characters by 2 lines. This panel ensures clear, sharp character display with excellent contrast. The module uses a transmissive mode with multiple LED backlight options, including blue, green, yellow-green, and red. Please note that a white LED backlight is not available for this model. The backlight can be driven through various pins for flexible design integration.
The WH1602T module supports multiple interface options, with the default being a 6800 4/8-bit parallel interface. Optional SPI and I2C interfaces are also available using the RW1063 controller IC, providing flexibility for various application needs.
The integrated ST7066 controller supports various character font sets, including English/Japanese, English/Western European, English/Scandinavian European, and English/Cyrillic (Russian), making it suitable for global applications.
