WH1602S is a 1.88-inch 16x2 LCD display module with a 16-character x 2-line format. The module dimension is 59.0 x 29.3 x 5.5 mm, with an active area of 46.7 x 9.84 mm. It adopts a COB (Chip-On-Board) structure and features a 16-pin single-row connection along the top edge of the PCB.
WH1602S uses the ST7066 controller IC or equivalent and uses a 6800 4/8-bit parallel interface by default. SPI and I2C interface options are available with the RW1063 controller IC. The default supply voltage is +5V, with a +3V version also available. The negative voltage option is available only with the +3V power supply.
The ST7066 controller is available with multiple character sets, including English/Japanese, English/Western European, English/Scandinavian European, and English/Cyrillic (Russian).
The WH1602S series is available with the following interface configurations:
LED backlight options include blue, green, white, yellow-green, amber, and red.
