Description

The WO1602J model is a Chip on Glass (COG) VATN module featuring 16 characters by 2 lines with a VA Negative Transmissive LCD, available with a white LED backlight. This WO1602J module is built-in with an ST7028-1A IC; it supports I2C interface, has a viewing direction at 12 o'clock, a duty cycle of 1/17, and a bias of 1/5.

Both the VATN WO1602J and our existing COG LCD WO1602G share the same outline dimensions of 74.2 x 25.2 mm and feature the same metal pinout. The WO1602J uses pin connections on the glass panel, and the backlight AK pins are located on the side. This design allows for a direct replacement of WO1602G with the new WO1602J display. We designed twin LED chips to increase the backlight brightness for the WO1602J VATN model.

The supply voltage for the logic of WO1602J ranges from 3V to 3.6V, with a typical value of 3.3V. This module can operate at temperatures ranging from -20℃ to +70℃, and its storage temperature ranges from -30℃ to +80℃.

The VATN (Vertical Alignment Twisted Nematic) display features a wide viewing angle and high contrast ratio; therefore, it is very suitable for many applications. Below are some examples for reference:

  • Industrial: automotive applications, digital meters, UPS.
  • Medical: medical devices & medical equipment.
  • Home appliances: audio systems, coffee machines, microwave ovens.
