5-Inch IPS TFT LCD Display Options

WINSTAR offers two 5-inch IPS TFT LCD display options with 800x480 resolution, a 24-bit RGB interface, and wide operating temperature support. Featuring high-transmittance TFT glass, the WFN0500A4 series improves light efficiency and reduces backlight power requirements compared with the WF50F series.
WFN0500A4S0WADNN000 — 1000 cd/m² High-Brightness Version
Delivers high-brightness performance with approximately 30% lower backlight power consumption, making it suitable for outdoor terminals and industrial applications requiring enhanced display visibility.
WFN0500A4T0WADNC000 — 400 cd/m² PCAP Touch Version
Features 5-point projected capacitive touch with approximately 60% lower backlight power consumption, providing a more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly display solution for interactive HMI and embedded display applications.
7-Inch UART Smart Display with Resistive Touch

The WL0F0007000D2TFAASA00 is WINSTAR's first Smart Display model equipped with a resistive touch panel. Featuring a 7-inch IPS TFT display, STM32F746 MCU, and UART interface, the module provides an integrated platform for industrial HMI development.
The Smart Display supports WINSTAR GUI Builder for drag-and-drop UI development without low-level display firmware programming. The integrated STM32 platform also supports TouchGFX and LVGL for custom firmware development, providing developers with additional flexibility based on project requirements.
8.8-inch Bar-Type STM32N6 Edge AI Development Board

WL0F00088000BGXAANA00 is the industry's first 8.8-inch bar-type HMI Development Board, powered by the STM32N657 MCU from the STM32N6 series. Designed for Embedded AI and STM32 AI development, it integrates an ultra-wide IPS touch display, MIPI CSI-2 camera support, and on-device AI processing into a single platform for Edge AI Vision and HMI applications.
Built for rapid AI vision application development, the board supports TouchGFX for GUI development, includes 64 MB external Flash, and provides extensive communication and expansion interfaces for industrial HMI, machine vision, and embedded AI applications.
VATN Display Demo Kit with Full-Viewing-Angle and Full-Color Printing
WWTK0004-00# is a VATN Display Demo Kit designed to demonstrate full-viewing-angle technology, full-color printing, smooth color gradients, and integrated touch functionality. Using an air conditioner control panel as a practical HMI example, the demo kit features five touch keys for mode selection, temperature adjustment, timer settings, and fan control, allowing users to evaluate display appearance, viewing performance, and touch operation.
WWTK0003-00# is also available with a standard 6 o'clock viewing direction and without smooth color gradient effects. Both demo kits use the same hardware platform, providing two VATN display configurations for evaluating different viewing-angle and color presentation requirements.

Input Power Protection Design for Electronic Systems
Power input protection is an important part of electronic system design, particularly in industrial and embedded applications where equipment may be exposed to different power sources and operating conditions. Reverse polarity, hot-plug events, power source switching, and overcurrent conditions can affect system stability and reliability if the input power architecture is not properly designed.
Different protection approaches involve trade-offs in voltage drop, power loss, circuit complexity, protection capability, and cost. This article compares four commonly used solutions—Schottky diodes, PMOS ideal diodes, ORing architectures, and eFuse solutions—and explains the advantages, limitations, and design considerations of each approach to help engineers select an appropriate protection strategy based on system requirements. Selected WINSTAR Smart Display models also incorporate these protection techniques to improve power integrity and system reliability.

What's New in Smart Display GUI Builder v0.8.5_WS & v0.8.6_WS
The latest Smart Display GUI Builder updates add support for custom decimal place settings in the Number Widget for the 7-inch 16MB Custom CAN ID series and extend GUI Builder support to 32MB Flash Smart Display modules.
For supported 32MB Flash models, GUI Builder provides expanded project capacity with up to 255 widgets per page, 1,000 widgets per project, and 64 pages. Support for multiple communication protocols is also available based on display size and model configuration.
