CAN Bus Smart Displays: 3.5", 4.3", and 5" with Capacitive Touch (Custom CAN ID + GPIO)
Winstar presents its latest Smart Display CAN Series (Custom CAN ID + GPIO), available in 3.5", 4.3", and 5" sizes. These advanced displays are designed to meet diverse application needs, offering a range of carefully engineered features to enhance performance and integration ease. Here's a comprehensive overview of their capabilities:
Key Features:
- Automatic Self-Test and Initialization: Each display performs an automatic self-test upon power-up and initializes the screen, ensuring a streamlined setup process and reliable operation.
- CAN Bus Interface: Featuring a CAN Bus interface, these displays deliver reliable communication capabilities, making them suitable for a wide range of applications, such as in industrial, automotive and medical sectors.
- Custom CAN ID Protocol: Supports Custom CAN ID communication protocol with an initial communication speed of 250KB. This feature facilitates flexible integration with various systems.
- Built-in 16M Flash Memory: Includes 16M of Flash memory for storing fonts and object dictionaries, thereby enhancing performance and supporting complex graphical interfaces.
- Capacitive Touchscreen: Features a projected capacitive touchscreen, providing a responsive and intuitive user interface.
- Integrated Buzzer: An integrated buzzer delivers audible feedback for notifications and alerts, enhancing user interaction.
- Standardized Modules: Each model integrates a high-quality TFT module and a 4-layer PCBA with built-in firmware developed by Winstar's R&D team, ensuring consistent performance across different sizes.
- GPIO Support: Provides 8 channel bi-directional GPIOs with TTL 3.3V logic level. GPIO configurations can be managed using PC tools and the Smart Display GUI Builder, offering flexibility for additional hardware connections.
- Versatile Host Platform Compatibility: Compatible with various host platforms, including computers (via USB-to-CAN dongle), Raspberry Pi (with PiCAN2), and MCUs (such as Arduino with a CAN adapter).
- User-Friendly Interface Design: The WINSTAR GUI Builder software facilitates user interface design without the need for programming skills. It includes drag-and-drop widget previews and supports a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) approach. Note that WINSTAR GUI Builder software is available for Windows systems only.

WF70D2 Series: 7" IPS TFT LCD Displays with Wide Temperature Range – Normal, Ultra High Brightness, and PCAP Models
The WF70D2 series features a 7-inch IPS TFT LCD module with a resolution of 800x480 pixels and an aspect ratio of 15:9. Operating within a supply voltage range of 2.9V to 3.6V (typically 3.3V), this module is designed for reliable performance in temperatures from -30°C to +80°C. The WF70D2 offers superior wide viewing angles and enhanced visual clarity compared to the TN glass used in the WF70H and WF70C4 series. It is very suitable to replace the WF70H/WF70C4 series, maintaining identical pin definitions.
Normal Brightness:
Applications: Ideal for washing machines, dryers, medical equipment, and industrial displays, where high visibility and robust temperature tolerance are essential.
Features: Provides sufficient brightness, excellent viewing angles, and strong temperature resilience.
Ultra High Brightness:
Applications: Ideal for demanding environments such as motorcycle dashboards, access control systems, outdoor charging stations, medical equipment, industrial displays, mining equipment control panels, construction site equipment, farm automation systems, and more.
Features: Delivers enhanced visibility in bright conditions, with wide viewing angles and excellent temperature tolerance.
Projected Capacitive Touch Panel (PCAP):
Applications: Ideal for interactive applications such as motorcycle dashboards, access control systems, outdoor charging stations, medical equipment, industrial displays, mining equipment control panels, construction site equipment, farm automation systems, and more.

WF50D Series: Low-Power 5-Inch MIPI TFT LCD Displays – Normal and High Brightness Models
The WF50D Series features two 5-inch TFT LCD modules optimized for portrait mode, each designed with a strong emphasis on low power consumption while maintaining excellent visual performance. Compared to the previous standard models WF50DTYA3MNNA and WF50DSYA3MNN0, the newly introduced standard models offer at least a 30% reduction in power consumption under the same backlight brightness conditions.
These modules deliver a resolution of 720 × 1280 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio, providing sharp and clear images. Thanks to IPS technology, they offer wide 80-degree viewing angles in all directions (80/80/80/80), ensuring consistent image quality from various perspectives. Both models are equipped with the ILI9881C TFT driver IC and support a MIPI interface, which enhances data transmission efficiency.
The WF50D Series is particularly well-suited for applications that demand low power usage, such as mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) systems and card readers. Their design ensures significant reductions in power consumption, making them an ideal choice for environments where energy efficiency and high performance are critical.

Winstar's Electronic Paper Display (EPD) series leverages cutting-edge "bistable" technology to offer highly energy-efficient display solutions. Unlike conventional displays, EPDs maintain image persistence even when the power source is removed, consuming power only during updates. This unique characteristic provides several key advantages:
- Ultra-Low Power Consumption: Power is utilized solely during image updates, resulting in significant energy savings and extended battery life. Ideal for applications where power efficiency is crucial.
- No Backlight Required: The slim and energy-efficient design eliminates the need for a backlight, making these displays perfect for prolonged use in various settings.
